Another surprise!

This year was the biggest amongst the three I had with Tempest. I never expected him to do such a thing - plan a party. He always seemed reluctant to organize gatherings and very seldom initiate to meet up with his friends. Yet, this time, he actually managed to gather my closest friends for a BBQ!

Thanks SC & Al for being in the decor committee. SC even took the trouble to find out my favorite color and ensured that the balloons are in that shade. There was even a helium-filled colorful one tied to the 'dragon seat'. Haha. Oh, and that reusable "Happy Birthday" banner! My friends are really environmentally-friendly!

Thanks GZ for being the 'charcoal man' for the night. I heard he set up the fire and took charge of the cooking with Al. There were no 'chaota-ness' in my opinion but the self-critical GZ thought some of the hotdogs were slightly burnt. Ah, but there was a little glitch with the aluminum foil though. Small fire, no big deal.

Thanks to HB & KK for being in charge of food preparation. The chilli sotong turned out well. I saw how enthusiastically HB was in applying chilli sauce to a thick slab of stingray when she doesn't even cook at home. Thanks to Al, HB, KK & HJ for taking the effort to meet up and buy me a gift on a Thursday night after numerous hours of tiring work and OT. I appreciate it, and would try my best to try to use the bag :-p

Thanks to JJ who popped by to celebrate with me despite being busy and having to sacrifice playtime with her baby nephew.

Thanks to Tempest's parents who took the effort to buy so much hi-quality food! Ribs, huge slabs of stingray, huge bowl of salad with huge prawns, huge pot of fried mee with more prawns, sotong, many hotdogs, and many more chicken chunks!

And Tempest. Thank you for injecting so much surprise for a birthday celebration that I thought was already over when we had a buffet at Himawari. You probably ran up 10 flights of steps to put the pressie on my bed before running down again. I should have noticed something weird when I met you at the bottom of the stairs, but I thought you just went up to look for some cats. To think that you can manage to lie to me about the entire day! What skating with DL and playing daidee at your grandma's house. Gosh! I took them all in! Anyway, did you give my parents a shock when you suddenly appear at the door? I was truly surprised when I saw a big box lying on my bed when I reached home. I even had a thought that my brother gave me something! Haha.. But now, yes, I have confirmed that he would not do such a sweet thing.
