The cook surprises!
Yet this is one of the best toast I have ever eaten!
2 slices of white bread dipped into a bowl of beaten eggs, and then thrown into a hot saucepan, probably sizzling with a teaspoon of virgin olive oil.
Pan-fried till charred-brown, one of the crispy breads were then spread with thick chunky peanut butter jam. Generous portions of pork floss were also strewn across the peanut butter coated plain.
Cover it with the other slice of toast, and the treasures within are more than well-concealed. Top it off with a few spoonfuls of St Dalfour's blueberry jam. Finally, drench the squarish bundle with a trickle of condensed milk. Viola! Blueberry french toast.
Ought to eat it hot! Otherwise the condensed milk & jam would seep into the bread, and turned it into a soggy mess.
I extremely liked the crunchy peanut butter and the pork floss. The peanut butter serves well to stick the floss in place. Very rich combination. The bread was a tad too brown, that I thought it was wholemeal bread! After verifying it with the cook, I realized to both our amusement that it was the dark soya sauce in the eggs that gave the toast its dark brownish color. Haha.
Coupled with a home-blended coffee mocha, it made a very filling breakfast on a Sunday morning. Yummy! When are we going to have this again, Tempest? :-)
