Big Walk 大法

Everybody attends Big Walk! From schools who organized hordes of students decked in their PE kit, to corporations who signed up huge groups of employees, to even self-established organizations like XX Lion Dance Troupe, the FC Liverpool Fan Club and the ultra-controversial Falun Gong 法轮功 ["Practice of the Wheel of Law"] advocates.

Look at them! So neat & organised. These are 50 - 70 year old aunties and uncles! Yet they finished the 10km route with their long-sleeved yellow tee and chinese drum slinged onto their shoulders, with each step and "dong" in sync with the buddhistic music which played in the background. The wonders of Falun Gong, what testimony do you further need?!

But not everyone appreciates the advance cultivation system of body and mind. "Looks as if we are attending a funeral procession!" That was the statement of a young secondary school boy, ignorant of the influence the Falun Dafa 法轮大法 has conjured up so far. That was by far, the most entertaining scene of the entire Big Walk.

The so-called "midpoint" drink station was set up at the 6km mark. Abit too late. I had already proceeded to nearby Marina Square's 7-11 to get a refreshing lime-flavored 100 Plus. That added another 1 - 2 km to our 10km walk. That was not all. After reaching the finishing line, we proceeded to walk to the counters to exchange the vouchers for our goodie bags, to shop around for bargain deals, to walk to Kallang Mac near. That was probably another 1 - 2 km. After washing up using the towel & Silkpro facial cleanser and eating the free sundaes that came with the goodie bag, we went on to walk another 2 - 3km to Kallang MRT.

Just tabulated my number tag against the results. *sighz* How not rewarding! Weight & fat percent didn't go down either. Hmph!
